CBS Weighs Romo's Future After Drunk-Driving Arrest

CBS Sports president David Berson said Tuesday there is "no timetable" for a decision on the future of lead NFL analyst Tony Romo, who is on leave after his arrest last month in Wisconsin on suspicion of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Berson called it an evolving situation as the network weighs its brand image ahead of the new NFL season.
Timeline
Romo, a former NFL quarterback, retired and joined CBS Sports as its lead game analyst in April 2017.
Last month, he was arrested in Wisconsin on suspicion of operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) and was placed on leave.
In late July, CBS announced J.J. Watt would move up to its No. 1 commentary team, pairing with Jim Nantz and Tracy Wolfson.
On Aug. 11, at NFL media day, Berson told reporters there was "no timetable or final decision" on Romo's status.
Reactions
Watt addressed the circumstances of his promotion, which came in the wake of Romo's arrest.
CBS also promoted analyst Ross Tucker up its broadcast depth chart amid the uncertainty.
What's Next
Romo faces a court hearing on the OWI charges. CBS says it has set no deadline for deciding whether he returns.
