Couple, Son Shot Dead Inside Burning LA Home

A married couple and their young son were found shot dead inside a burning home in Maywood, California, early Saturday, and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department says the case appears to be domestic violence.
Firefighters knocked down the blaze on the 5000 block of East 61st Street and found all three bodies in a bedroom with apparent gunshot wounds.
Deputies recovered a firearm at the scene. No one has been publicly identified, and investigators have not said how the fire started.
The Victims
The sheriff's department described the dead as a man and a woman in their late 40s who were married, and their biological son, a boy under the age of 10.
Timeline
Los Angeles County Fire Department crews arrive at a house fire on the 5000 block of East 61st Street in Maywood and call for backup because of the flames and smoke, the New York Post reported. The Los Angeles Times reported deputies and firefighters were dispatched to the structure fire at 2:30 a.m.
Responders search the home and find three people dead in a bedroom from apparent gunshot wounds. A gun is recovered at the scene.
The sheriff's department issues a release saying the deaths appear to be "domestic violence in nature" and that there is "no threat to the community."
The Los Angeles County coroner does not respond to questions about the case, the Los Angeles Times reported.

"The incident appears to be domestic violence in nature. The two adults are married, and the child is their biological child," the sheriff's office said in a statement.
The department also told residents there is "no threat to the community," while saying the circumstances remain under investigation.
Law enforcement has not stated a cause of death or said who fired the recovered weapon.

The county coroner is expected to determine and confirm the causes of death and to identify the three victims. Investigators have not yet said what started the fire or whether it is connected to the shootings.
