Paris Court Awards Kardashian 1 Euro for Robbery

A Paris court on Tuesday awarded Kim Kardashian one euro in damages over the armed robbery she survived in the French capital in October 2016 — the exact amount she had requested.
More than $6 million in jewelry was taken in the heist, which happened during Paris Fashion Week.
The symbolic payout comes from the thieves convicted in connection with the robbery. Eight people were convicted last year; none returned to prison, after credit for time already served in pretrial detention.

A former receptionist at the Hôtel de Pourtalès, where Kardashian was staying, was awarded 109,516 euros ($126,472). The hotel itself was awarded 50,000 euros ($57,741). Stylist Simone Harouche, like Kardashian, was awarded one euro.

Reactions
Kardashian and Harouche said in a joint statement that the case is now about accountability, not money — consistent with their request for a single symbolic euro each.
The former receptionist had sought 550,000 euros. Through his lawyer, Mohand Ouidja, he called the smaller award a victory.
Kardashian's French lawyers did not respond to press inquiries about the civil ruling.
What's Next
The ruling closes the civil damages chapter of the case. With no appeals filed against the criminal verdicts, the legal fight that began with the 2016 heist is effectively over.
Most of the stolen jewelry has not been publicly reported as recovered.
