Alec Baldwin Crashes Car Into Tree in Hamptons

Emmy-award-winning actor Alec Baldwin plowed his Range Rover into a tree while cruising through the Hamptons with his brother on Monday, according to photos shared with The Post.

Baldwin, 67, was photographed looking disheveled and annoyed as he made a call and stood with his hands in his pockets at the crash site.

His car, a white Range Rover, was smashed in the front after crashing head-on into a tree on the side of Montauk Highway in the East Hamptons, where the actor owns a ritzy summer home.

Police quickly arrived on scene and helped the duo take shelter in the pouring rain.

Baldwin was out East for the Hamptons International Film Festival, which ran from Oct. 5 to Oct 13. He is the co-chair of its Board Executive Committee.

“He has been out there all week, he attended films and moderated panels,” a source told Page Six.

Baldwin addressed his wreck in a video he shared on Instagram, confessing that the Range Rover he smashed up was actually his wife Hilaria’s car.

The actor sat in the same clothes he wore during the crash as he provided a long-winded and rambling explanation about his vehicular mishap, which he blamed on a “garbage truck the size of a whale,” he said cut him off.

“To avoid hitting him, I hit a tree, I hit a big, fat tree and crushed my car – my wife’s car. I crushed my wife’s car. I feel bad about that. But it’s all fine, I’m fine, and my brother’s fine,” he said.

The actor was quick to thank the responding authorities, including an “Officer Gerken” with the East Hampton PD.

“As nice as can be, as pleasant as can be about the whole thing,” Baldwin praised the local cop.

His update was muddled with a final round of congratulations to all who participated in the film festival – and, randomly, his wife, who was recently voted off “Dancing With The Stars.”

“Hilaria, I love you more than anything. I’m very proud of you,” he said, though it’s unclear what he was commending her for.

Baldwin, who reached 40 years of sobriety in May, has drummed up trouble along The Hamptons since first moving there in the early 1980s.

He’s tried, and failed, to sell his East Hampton home.

In January 2024, he knocked a whopping $10 million off its original listing, which had only been dropping as months rolled by without any meaningful offers.

Baldwin first purchased the lavish East Hampton home in 1995 and completed two expansive renovations.

The farmhouse, which sits on a nearby beach and sprawls across 10 acres, went on the market less than a year after the “Rust” fiasco, where he accidentally shot and killed a cinematographer on set. Baldwin denied pulling the trigger of the prop gun — which was not supposed to be loaded with live rounds — and the case against him was dismissed in July 2024.

The actor originally sought to sell it for $29 million. He later yanked it off the market in July 2024 and began filming the TLC reality television show “The Baldwins” at the property.
