Fox News Cuts Ties With Maria Bartiromo

FOX News Media parted ways with anchor Maria Bartiromo on Thursday, ending a run of more than 12 years across Fox Business Network and Fox News Channel.
The company announced it in a press release headed "FOX NEWS MEDIA PARTS WAYS WITH MARIA BARTIROMO," carrying a New York dateline.
"We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter," the network said.
That was the whole statement. Fox gave no reason for the exit, named no successor and included no comment from Bartiromo. The Daily Mail reported it is unclear whether she resigned or was pushed out.
Timeline
Bartiromo becomes the first journalist to report live from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange on a daily basis, during a 20-year run at CNBC that included hosting "Closing Bell."
She joins Fox Business Network as global markets editor.
Her Friday investing program, "Maria Bartiromo's Wall Street," launches. She also anchors the weekday show "Mornings with Maria" on Fox Business and "Sunday Morning Futures" on Fox News Channel.
"Mornings with Maria" airs its final broadcast, according to the Tampa Free Press, cited by Raw Story.
Fox's release goes out. Mediaite, Variety, NBC News, the Daily Mail, Raw Story and The Gateway Pundit all move the news within about 20 minutes.
Reactions
Fox said nothing beyond its two sentences of thanks, and Bartiromo has not commented publicly, according to the reporting.
Coverage crossed the usual lines fast. The Gateway Pundit, on the right, ran it as a breaking alert. Raw Story, on the left, called it a "bombshell" and flagged the "terse two-sentence statement." Mediaite described the release as "stunning."
Variety noted Bartiromo was a one-time CNBC star who turned her Wall Street coverage into anchor jobs on both Fox channels. Her guest list at Fox included President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, per her network biography.
What's Next
Fox Business has already reshuffled her shows, according to the Tampa Free Press report cited by Raw Story.
The 6 a.m. weekday hour becomes "Mornings with FOX Business" on Friday, with rotating anchors.
Her Friday evening program is being rebranded "FBN's Wall Street" this week, with anchor Cheryl Casone hosting Friday from 7 to 7:30 p.m. ET and guest anchors filling in after that.
Former Republican congressman Jason Chaffetz hosts "Sunday Morning Futures" at 10 a.m. ET this Sunday on Fox News Channel. A permanent host is to be named later.
Network executives said an updated weekday Fox Business lineup will be announced in the coming weeks.

Bartiromo was one of the most recognizable faces in US business television for three decades — first at CNBC, then as the anchor who bridged Fox's business channel and its Sunday politics programming. Her exit removes a host from three time slots at once, which is why the schedule changes landed the same day as the announcement.
