Spotify is rolling out a new "AI Persona" label to flag artists whose identities appear to be AI-generated rather than human.
The badge will appear on the profiles of acts that are flagged, or that self-identify, as not human.
The streaming giant said it will also stop pushing that music, pulling AI Personas from its personalized recommendations.
How It Works
Under the change, a profile carrying the "AI Persona" badge tells listeners upfront that the artist behind it isn't real.
Beyond the label, Spotify said music from those AI Personas will be kept out of the algorithmic recommendations that surface songs to users.
The move comes as Spotify faces what outlets described as an onslaught of AI-generated music flooding the platform.
