Watch: Trump Greeted with Cheers at US Open Final

President Trump on Sunday arrived at the US ​Open in Queens to watch the men’s tennis finals.

The president strolled into a suite at Arthur Ashe Stadium before the men’s singles championship match was due to kick off at 2:30 p.m.

He was greeted by cheers in the luxury seats around his box as he entered.

Trump then emerged briefly to greet those in the stadium, waving and clapping, and was met by a mixed roar of cheers and boos.

He was joined by several members of his administration, including US Attorney General Pam Bondi, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.

Trump’s appearance at the showdown between tennis aces Janik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz stirred up controversy even before he set foot in the stadium.

The United States Tennis Association had advised broadcasters not to televise any boos or cheers he might receive from the crowd, prompting critics to rip the move.

“We ask all broadcasters to refrain from showcasing any disruptions or reactions in response to the President’s attendance in any capacity, including ENG (Electronic News Gathering) coverage,” the USTA advised.

Trump was heavily booed at his last US Open appearance in 2015.

The president’s attendance at this year’s final caused massive lines and backups as attendees were forced to wade through rigorous security screenings.

“These lines are outrageous,” said 27-year-old Dino Romeo, who traveled from California for the match and told The Post he was “indifferent” about the president’s attendance.

Another tennis fan said, “I think it’s an inconvenience to the fans.”

But her boyfriend was all for Trump’s appearance.

“I think it’s great,” he said.
